Auntie MM came out to visit while your daddy was in New York for work! She hadn't seen you since you were born! She had so much fun playing with you, and she even made your Halloween costume.
We took some great pictures with the pumpkins at Larkspur Landing.
Look how adorable your Strawberry Shortcake costume is!!!! I can't wait to see you in the whole thing.
When Honey and BB were here, we went to Sonoma for some wine tasting. You did great - even on the dune buggy ride up the mountain!
You're sitting up all by yourself! Such a big girl :)
Happy 4 Months!
Hi there big girl! Let's talk about four months....you're smiling and giggling all the time. You really like your bumbo chair, because you can see a whole new world around you. You roll over. And you finally enjoy tummy time! (sort of) Having said all of that, you're also much more restless in your sleep, since you're moving around more. This has not been fun for your parents :) But it's so fun seeing you smile all day long and knowing that you're taking everything in around you. You love being outside and looking at new things. Enjoy your 4 month photos!
You had your 4-month check up this morning too. You're in the 75th percentile for height still, but dropped to 50% for weight. No biggie. You did great with your shots again!

Your Sip & See
While we were in Louisiana, you had a little sip and see for family friends to finally see your sweet face in person. It was perfect. You were perfect. Everyone loved you :)
You were wiped at the end of the day! This was also the end of a very long week for you. So sweet.

Update and First Trip to Louisiana
You've been busy the past couple of weeks! We took you home to Louisiana, and you were quite the traveler, again!
improvised TT...this seems to work for you
dinner with jatty
meeting your daddy after work for walks in the city
You love your new playmat! You're all about kicking your legs around, so this is great for you.
You're getting so big!
first TCU game....we were late and your dad did not want to stop for pictures. Too bad, now he just looks funny :)
hanging out with your cousin!
your favorite book
holding your bottle all by yourself!
flying home
It's getting really chilly in the mornings, and I've realized they dont make casual baby clothes with legs! At least none that I've seen. So I found these adorable leg warmers that are perfect! Very 80s, but super cute and practical!
You love reading. You are finally willing to sit still and read with us, which has been so fun. Here we are at the corte madera shopping center. They have great courtyards with coffee shops and fire pits, so I thought it would be a nice change from our living room.

3 Months
Happy 3 Months!
Here are your "3 month milestones":
You consistently sleep at night. We count on you waking up once - we never know if that will happen around 1 a.m. or around 4 a.m., but it's always just once - and you are super happy in your crib. You wake up talking to yourself, instead of crying like you did in your rock 'n play. I think you were too big for that! You love being able to kick around in your crib. When I come in to your room in the morning and you see me, you're all smiles, and it's so cute.
You have a routine. You wake up, eat, play, nap. I know you'll be awake for about 2 hours, and then you'll get a little cranky because you're tired. You'll sleep anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. And then we start over again.
You started drinking formula. And you love it! Thank goodness. Much easier to give you bottles this way.
You are obsessed with your hands. Really. You can't get enough of them.
You laughed!
You are starting to put everything in your mouth. I think that's a sign of teething (not really sure). But you're starting to grab things, and if you can, you bring them up to your mouth.
You weigh a little over 12 pounds.

You Are Two Months Old
Dear Virginia,
(sorry this is a couple of weeks late)...You're two months old. Here is a list of things you've accomlished in your second month:
Self-soothing - this is HUGE! You have found your fists and thumb and have put yourself to sleep a few times sucking on them. If you aren't falling asleep, you at least entertain yourself for a while.
You hold your head up so well. One of the first things people say when they meet you is how alert you are and how great your head control is. Since you're our first, we have nothing to compare your growth and development to. So it's nice to hear other people comment and give us feedback! Apparently, you're doing great.
You sleep so well. You average one "wake up/feeding" per night. Sometimes you'll stir a bit outside of that feeding, but you quickly go back to sleep with a pacifier or your thumb. Other nights, you'll amaze us and sleep through the entire night! (thank you)
You went on your first plane ride (and you were great!).
You had your first babysitter (thank you Andi!). You were great for her too.
You've discovered Lola. You're super curious about her. I can't wait for y'all to be able to play together.
You watched your first Saints game.
We have nicknamed you Curious George. When we take you out, you are usually awake and looking around at everything. You're perfectly happy as long as we have you facing out so you can see what is happening around you.
You LOVE it when I sing to you. If I sing you a song (right now we are focusing on Disney songs), you immediately start smiling and are so happy. So we sing pretty much all day long.
You love TV. I'm pretty sure it's the light you're fascinated by, but let's be honest...you're probably going to be a TV junkie like your mom.
You have the most infectious smile. Your dad said it perfectly when he said you smile with your whole face. It's adorable.
Ok, I promise to post these monthly milestone updates on time in the future! For now, here is your two-month photo shoot...
Love you.
Love,
mom
