Happy 15 Weeks!

You're 15 weeks today, so almost (basically four months). I promised to never be that pregnant person who only referred to things in weeks because if you aren't pregnant, it always takes a minute to calculate what "weeks" actually means. I understand now why everyone does the week thing though! Anyway, I assume you're doing fine because I'm still getting bigger and wanting to eat everything I see :)

I have to say that the second trimester is all it's cracked up to be so far...my headaches are pretty much gone and energy level feels like it shot through the roof compared to what it was a month ago.

We go back to the doctor for another ultrasound in just three weeks, and we can't wait to see you again!

Your Announcement to the Family!

After 13 LONG weeks of keeping you a secret, we were finally able to announce you to the world (and the family). To say that everyone was shocked would be an understatement. And I don't even know how describe their excitement. You are going to be one lucky grandkid/neice/nephew :)

I made little "baby boxes" for different family members. I never took a picture of the final product (boo), but your little picture was in there, along with pink and blue m&m's that I personalized with "Baby B" and "June 2013". Your dad thought the m&m's were a bit much, but I think they were the perfect touch! Since we couldn't be with everyone to share the news in person, we shipped boxes to some family members, and we were able to face time with them as they opened the gift. We told your grandmother (she's waiting to see what you decide to call her instead of picking out her own grandma name), and I was so wrapped up in the moment, that I didn't take any pictures! But the rest of the pictures will make up for it.

I thought it would be so perfect to tell the ENTIRE family when we were all together during our annual white elephant gift exchange. JAT helped us pull this off, and it could not have gone more perfectly. We wrapped up your baby box like it was JAT's gift (he always gives a gag gift, so nobody thought anything of it). We managed to work things out so G&M were sitting together. Once they started opening the box, there was a message that said this gift was not from JAT, but actually from Courtney and Robby.

They still don't get it...once they saw my name on it, they thought it was another wedding video (I mean, what would be so wrong with that anyway?!)

 And they finally get it...

Like I said, you are going to be so spoiled! Hardly anyone knew about you, and look at all of the Christmas gifts you receievd. Most of them were from Guncle JAT...Goodnight iPad (shocking), a Boo book (Boo is our neighbor and a famous dog out here) and a Facebook onesie, naturally. You also got some sweet stuffed animals from your Aunt Alison and Honey; and you had the softest blanket waiting for you in SF from Aunt Lindsi and Uncle Reid. Your dad and I gave you the Peter Rabbit book because I think they are so sweet...you will have every book in that collection :)

And we couldn't resist giving Grandpa Greg a little something from you...it was too perfect.

Welcome to the family Baby!

And I'm Getting Bigger...

I'm not going to be posting a lot of "bump pics" on here, but this gut is really starting to hang out. My yoga pants are getting uncomfortable! ick We are going to Cabo next week (anniversary celebration/early baby moon before i'm a whale) and I cannot wait to be in warm weather where I can wear sun dresses :)

OH. And this was a mid-day belly shot...in a few hours you like to doubel in size. It's really fun :)

Update

Just a little update...we are slowly telling people about you and they are just so excited! We are really lucky to have friends who care about us so much.

Andi brought over these beautiful flowers and some cream puffs to celebrate right after we went to the doctor and realized you were an actual baby and not just a tadpole :)

And this arrived in the mail from everyone at Country Day about three days after they heard the news :) I think they're ready for you to be part of of the family!

And your aunt Sarah was out here this weekend, and she just can't wait to spoil you either! Get excited.

In other news, I've been TRYING to eat really healthy food. Since I seem to have no problem indulging in any sweet that crosses my path (which is weird, because I tend to crave more substantial food), I'm trying to make up for that by coming up with new, healthy meals. I started making my own little parfait (because really the ones at the store or Starbucks are super fattening). This may be my new fave breakfast.

low-fat vanilla yogurt, homemade granola bars, fresh fruit and a little honey

My clothes still fit (see the pants), but by the afternoon, they are really tight. Not sure how much longer I'll be wearing these :(  Maybe I should think about staying away from the sweets and I could hang out in them in a bit longer....hmm, thought.

But these pants have been such a life saver! They are completely spandex, but look like legit riding pants. L-O-V-I-N-G

While my pants still fit, you can definitely tell I have a little pooch coming through. Boo...but it's cute :) Other than that, you seem to have just given me major sinus issues. Still no morning sickness, whoohooo! But if we don't get through this last week of the first trimester without kicking this head cold business, I am indulding in some serious sudafed...counting down the days until that's acceptable to take!

Welcome To Your Blog!

Hello there. I have to say I was a little surprised when I found out you were entering this world...your timing was definitely something I will remember! Call it a mother's intuition (or not), but despite all obvious factors that I SHOULDN'T be pregnant, I just felt like I was pregnant. And as soon as the thought entered my mind, I had to take a test. Like, I had to leave work in the middle of the day, walk down the street to Target and pee on a stick in the public restroom. Yep. Super classy. And I'm classy. You'll see :) Your aunt MM and uncle JAT were staying with us for an entire week in our tiny, one-bathroom apartment, so finding out I was pregnant was just par for the course with that week of chaos, I suppose! So while it is unfortunate that I had to find out I was pregnant in a Target bathroom and then was forced to tell your father on a street corner downtown (again, lack of privacy in our apartment that week), knowing that you existed immediately put smiles on our faces.

We will have made it through the first trimester in just four days. Which is amazing, since just a week ago, we thought you were only seven weeks old! Turns out you've been hanging out for a bit longer than we knew. We had our first doctor's appointment last Friday, and we were super surprised to find out we were almost eleven weeks along instead of seven. Fortunately, you seem to be very healthy. And what a relief to only have two more weeks of the feared first trimester instead of six! I haven't had any major sickness - mostly I've just been really tired and you've decided to give me headaches in the afternoon (let's be honest, that could also be lack of caffeine) and my clothes still fit! Since I'm a bit excited (impatient) and I love to share things with friends and family, I was very happy to know we were practically in the "safe zone" and we were that much closer to meeting you.

I want to keep these posts short and sweet (current post excluded, but it's the first one!), but I will try to capture all of the fun steps along this journey with you. It's still really early in to things, and so we've only told our closest friends about you. We are so lucky to have so many great friends who are thrilled about our news...and I can already tell you are going to be super spoiled (which is probably not ok with your dad, but perfectly fine with me!).  Bye for now!
