Bedding Preview

I got a couple of pictures of the bedding last night, and I just have to say, WOW. I knew what the fabrics looked like because I helped pick them out, but I don't have an eye for this sort of thing. I'm not a designer, so when I see scraps of fabric, I cannot picture what the final product will look like. Especially when multiple patterns are being sewn together. I knew it would come out perfect, but it was so exciting to see part of it!

This is just the bumper pad. We decided to use both the stripe and the flower fabric so it can be used both ways. I can have all stripe; all floral; or half the padding stripe and the other half floral. It is the sweetest thing I've ever seen!

Nursery Update!

We went with the Jenny Lind crib. It's still in its box, and we are putting it together this weekend. Can't wait! And we went with the Pottery Barn rocker. I also found a dresser, finally! I really wasn't sure what I was looking for here, but I didn't want it to be super matchy with the crib and chair, which are both white and cream. Molly and I found the cutest one at this little antique place in Fairfax, and I'm so excited about it. Who knows when the chair will actually arrive, but when it does, I can't wait to post pictures of the whole room!

I love the vintage look of this dresser, and it goes so well with the little feminine rug I found at Posh Tots.

I found this little random piece at the TJ MAXX our here, which has an AMAZING home section (score!). I can't decide if I want to paint it or not. Anyway, I thought it would be good to have beside the rocker.

A little bow preview! They are coming along! The only thing we have left to find is a foot stool for the chair and then wall decor. I've gotten some cute ideas from Etsy, Pinterest and some other blogs. Blair is coming in town for a week, so I'm saving those DIY projects for her visit :)

Third Trimester!

We are in the home stretch Virginia!! All of a sudden I feel very pregnant :) Your last appointment went really well, and your dad was so excited to hear your heart beat. You weigh about 2 1/2 pounds (although I'd argue that you're bigger), you're around 15 inches long and the size of a butternut squash :) Your little lungs and muscles are continuing to grow, and I can't believe we only have 11 more weeks until your arrival. We head to Shreveport this weekend to see all of your family, and they are so excited!

I bought you a cute little 7 month outfit...I think you should get a new outfit for each birthday until you arrive. I mean, that's only two more outfits, so I don't think that's outrageous.

We had a nice little lunch after your appointment - your dad even surprised me with a chocolate chip cookie, which has been a must-have the past couple of weeks!

Hello Virginia :) (and hello 7 months!)

Hi sweet girl! You are seven months old today :) And I feel every bit of seven months pregnant all of a sudden! The second trimester was such a breeze for me, and I'm hoping that my lack of energy and constant feeling of my belly growing is just minor growing pains as we enter the last three months together :) You really have been such an easy baby. Knowing that we are in the home stretch and only have 12 more weeks until your arrival (assuming all goes as planned!), I have really started organizing things to prepare for you! Your furniture is slowly arriving, and your closet is starting to fill up. I realized during this process that you had nothing to wear after you come home from the hospital, so I got on the ball looking for cute onesies. I'm obsessing over the little sleep outfits from Baby Gap and you racked up on them this weekend!

Everyone says the zippers are the best!

Your Honey was in town this weekend and bought you these precious little sleep sacks!

No, this isn't a practical one piece that you can sleep in, but your aunt Laura put Evelyn (one of your future besties) in a little skirt like this to spruce up the diaper when they'd leave the house and it was so cute! They were 2-for-1 (which means nothing to you), so you will have the joy of wearing one all the way through six months. Get excited :)

We have a check up tomorrow, and your dad is so excited to come to this appointment and hear your little heart beat that I've been hearing for the past few months.
