Third Trimester!

We are in the home stretch Virginia!! All of a sudden I feel very pregnant :) Your last appointment went really well, and your dad was so excited to hear your heart beat. You weigh about 2 1/2 pounds (although I'd argue that you're bigger), you're around 15 inches long and the size of a butternut squash :) Your little lungs and muscles are continuing to grow, and I can't believe we only have 11 more weeks until your arrival. We head to Shreveport this weekend to see all of your family, and they are so excited!

I bought you a cute little 7 month outfit...I think you should get a new outfit for each birthday until you arrive. I mean, that's only two more outfits, so I don't think that's outrageous.

We had a nice little lunch after your appointment - your dad even surprised me with a chocolate chip cookie, which has been a must-have the past couple of weeks!

Hello Virginia :) (and hello 7 months!)

Hi sweet girl! You are seven months old today :) And I feel every bit of seven months pregnant all of a sudden! The second trimester was such a breeze for me, and I'm hoping that my lack of energy and constant feeling of my belly growing is just minor growing pains as we enter the last three months together :) You really have been such an easy baby. Knowing that we are in the home stretch and only have 12 more weeks until your arrival (assuming all goes as planned!), I have really started organizing things to prepare for you! Your furniture is slowly arriving, and your closet is starting to fill up. I realized during this process that you had nothing to wear after you come home from the hospital, so I got on the ball looking for cute onesies. I'm obsessing over the little sleep outfits from Baby Gap and you racked up on them this weekend!

Everyone says the zippers are the best!

Your Honey was in town this weekend and bought you these precious little sleep sacks!

No, this isn't a practical one piece that you can sleep in, but your aunt Laura put Evelyn (one of your future besties) in a little skirt like this to spruce up the diaper when they'd leave the house and it was so cute! They were 2-for-1 (which means nothing to you), so you will have the joy of wearing one all the way through six months. Get excited :)

We have a check up tomorrow, and your dad is so excited to come to this appointment and hear your little heart beat that I've been hearing for the past few months.

Baby News

I signed up for Citrus Lane after hearing about it through another blog, and the first package came this week! I hope we're happy with the decision to sign up for this...the March box definitely delivered, so I'm already excited for April!

contents include: 2-in-1 baby body wash & shampoo, baby moisturizer, a little lamb blanket, organic socks and a box of animal cards. (and a $20 coupon to Just Fab for me!)

The little lamb blanket is adorable, and I'm so glad they put the "art cards" in the box! I haven't bought any games or activities (let's be honest, I wouldn't know where to start!), so I was really excited to see this cute little activity.

I ordered these precious personalized thank you notes for all of the shower gifts, and I'm really happy with how they turned out.

And now that I have some free time on my hands, I made these little return address stickers to match!

I ordered some nursery furniture this week, and I found a few odds and ends pieces that will pull the room together. I can't wait for things to start arriving! I'm heading out in a few minutes for my glucose test, ick. I dread getting bloodwork done :(

Bedding

I am so excited about our baby bedding! Between myself and Molly, we have picked out some great fabrics, and she is going to work her magic to make it all come together!

So this looks is my inspiration...go big or go BOW, right? no???

So I'm not going too crazy - there will only be two bows since the bed will be against a wall :) And I really am not doing anything else super frilly, so I think the bows will be ok with some other subtle fabrics.
I know the lighting doesn't do this fabric justice, but the pink matches the pink in the bows, and it's silk as well. Molly is going to use this eyelet fabric along with the silk stripe to complete the skirt and I think maybe the bumper?? I really don't know what all the finished product will include because I don't have a vision for this sort of thing. But I have complete faith that it will come out beautiful and Virginia Blair will be so proud of her bedding :)

Molly is also making some beautiful gowns for Miss VBB!
Seriously, how precious is that?!

On to tackle the never-ending to-do list! We ordered the rocker yesterday, and today I'm ordering the crib today. We went with the PB rocker because we got a great deal on it. So Robby had to settle on ivory fabric instead of the taupe color he prefered, but ivory went on sale :)

Nursery Stuff

I am trying to make decisions on nursery furniture. Really. I am. With everything going on in the last month though, I just haven't had time to finalize anything. There are a couple of options for everything, but I know we need to start ordering stuff!

Rockers...
This one converts to a real chair, and we both love the wings on the side (hello, head rest!).

(look, my name is even on the pillow!)

This one is nice too, but it doesn't convert.

Cribs...

This is the one I REALLY want :) I love the color and the style.

This one is my "practical" option :) This crib has been around forever (I slept in this kind of crib, as did most of the babies from my generation), and it's been updated to current safety standards of course!

Anyway, I have to make decisions on these two things by next week. I want to check out the cribs at the Baby Restoration Hardware outlet in Houston next weekend before I pull the trigger on anything. And then I'll post about the bedding! So excited about that...

You Were Definitely Showered This Weekend!

We had your baby shower in Fort Worth this weekend!

Everyone filled out these sweet cards for you...

Molly is making the sweetest little gown for you! This is just a preview...
All of your grandmothers were there to celebrate you!

And your great-aunts wouldn't have missed it :)

A little tribute to your nick name...and there's a banner with your real name over the fireplace. I saved them both and can't wait to find the perfect spot for them in your nursery.
And let's not forget to mention how AMAZING your aunt Katie's house is! You will have lots of play dates here with your future boyfriend, Andrew :)

Hi Virginia Blair!

You have had a busy couple of weeks! You gained a middle name (we decided on "Blair" after your aunt, and she is just so thrilled to be part of your namesake), you went to your first Mardi Gras and you finally have a nursery. You had a doctor's appointment last week, and your heart beat sounds perfect (again, naturally) and my blood pressure is normal, which is good. We also felt you kick for the first time! I still can't feel you unless I'm pushing down on my stomach, but you're definitely moving around in there. You have been getting a lot of loving these past few weeks too! Your gifts are pouring in, and everyone is just so excited about you :)
Me and your aunt Sarah at Eat Nola; your dad and me catching you some beads!

Here is a sneak peak at all of the precious gifts people have been sending you...

Ok, so I bought you this sleep outfit, but it was too adorable to pass up.

Molly bought you these adorable things when we were out shopping over the weekend. This little lamb blanket is the softest thing! Now I just need to get your furniture and bedding ordered...plan on tackling that over the weekend!
